Jimmerson Lake

Located in Far Northeastern Indiana

Jimmerson Lake, along with the rest of the Lake James Chain, sits in the far northeastern corner of Indiana. Angola is just south of the lake, offering stores, restaurants, schools, Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, and more.

Less than an hour away, Fort Wayne has a greater list of conveniences, including Fort Wayne International Airport and Parkview Hospital.

Clear, Glacial Waters

Jimmerson Lake has glaciers to thank for its breathtakingly clear waters. The same glaciers created the Great Lakes left behind small glaciers that created the Lake James chain and many others in northern Indiana.

Several subdivisions border the lake, offering amenities like pools, golf cart trails, clubhouses, hiking areas, and more.

Loads of Lake Activity

The waters of Jimmerson Lake will allow for any lake activity like boating, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, kayaking, fishing, and many more. Bass, catfish, and panfish are the lake’s dominant catches, but walleye, bluegill, and crappie also habitat the waters.

A public boat launch on the north side of the lake makes it easy for residents and visitors to boat the lake. Waggoner RV Park and a couple of restaurants sit on the east end of the lakeshore.

Nearby Parks

Lake James, connected to Jimmerson Lake, offers the same amount of recreation on a more significant body of water.

Pokagon State Park borders much of its eastern shore, offering a campground, amphitheater, nature center, and restaurant. The park is a year-round attraction for boating, fishing, and swimming in the summer and cross-country skiing, sledding, and ice-fishing in the winter.

Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve is a unique attraction just minutes away. The preserve features 400 acres of land roamed by herds of over 250 bison. People of all ages enjoy majestic views all around the park.
